Things to do in Monteverde
The Cloud Forest
Dress warm for this adventure! Spend hours walking in the cool, misty forest at Selvatura Park. A great way to see the cloud forest is with a tree top suspension bridge walk. Start your hike with a stop at the hummingbird feeding stations to get a close look at these amazing birds. Coatimundis might even make an appearance in this area. Then continue on the 2 mile walk over 8 suspension bridges high above the tree tops. Depending on your pace, this walk will take 1-2 hours.

This is an unguided tour and cost is $35/adult and less for kids. Options to purchase an all-day package will include all but zip-lining. There is a restaurants within this park for lunch or dinner.
Insect Museum
The insect museum is located with in Selvatura Park. This museum houses one of the most stunning and largest private collection of insects (non-living). There is no need for a guide in the insect museum.
Herpetarium
This museum is also located inside Selvatura Park and is worth a visit. There is a guide on staff that will walk around and educate about the live reptiles and amphibians.
The Bat Jungle

The bat jungle is a kid friendly tour and will not disappoint. Expect to spend 1-2 hours at this destination. The guide will give an educational talk before taking you through a few dark rooms to see different species of bats. With the extreme decline in our bat population due to White Nose Syndrome (WNS), bats need our help. WNS has mainly affected bats in the United States, but it has also made an unfortunate impact on the bats in Central America too.
Where to eat
Who could pass up the chance to have dinner in a tree? The Tree House Restaurant is uniquely situated around a ficus tree. The food and drinks are good and the atmosphere was stunning.
