Welcome to our off the beaten path travel page. These destinations are the most unique, fun, and memorable. I will constantly be adding to this list as we stumble upon more.
Pasaquan
Pasaquan is located in rural Buena Vista, Georgia. It was created by Eddie Owen Martin, AKA St. EOM, in the 1960s. It took him 30 years to complete this unique compound of art. If you enjoy exploring “off the beaten path,” kids and adults who appreciate individuality should make this a must see. Read more about our trip to Pasaquan here.
Pearl Fryer’s Topiary Garden
Located in Bishopville, South Carolina, this ethical wildlife travel destination gives you the feeling that you’ve stepped into an “Alice in Wonderland” world. Enjoy an hour or so strolling through these creative, living masterpieces that are handmade by one very sweet man. Learn more about the topiary garden here.
17-year Cicadas
These alien-like insects are the coolest! These creatures emerge periodically by the thousands all around the globe. This natural wildlife wonder was on my bucket list for awhile. When I found out that the 17-year cicada would be emerging in my state, I knew I had to experience this. Click here to read more about this adventure.
The Bat Jungle
This ethical wildlife travel destination is a highlighted attraction in this region of Costa Rica. The Bat Jungle is nestled in the hills of old town Monteverde which makes it easily accessible from all parts of town. A visit to The Bat Jungle supports their conservation efforts.
