To summit the 5th highest peak in the state, first take a scenic drive up Veteran’s Memorial Highway which will lead you to a historic castle. From there, climb the steps or choose to ride the elevator to the top and enjoy 360 degree views. The summit of White Face Mountain is 4,867 ft above sea level.
Fall is great time to visit and take in the breath taking views of the changing foliage. Winter is also prime time and booming with skiers and snowboarders.
If you are within driving distance, a road trip is highly recommended. Stay in the small town of Lake Placid and enjoy exploring a bit of history from the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
