Yosemite National Park is one of the most traveled destinations in the United States. The vast greatness of nature and wildlife in this iconic park in California does not disappoint. It is such a humbling experience to hike among some of the oldest and largest trees in the world.
Visitors can see the main attractions of Yosemite as a day trip or stay for weeks. A road trip including Sequoia National Park and Yosemite is recommended and is easily attainable in a long weekend.
Yosemite Main Attractions
El Capitan and Half Dome are the most popular sites in Yosemite National Park. These can be seen from many different viewing areas by car. If visitors are wanting a closer look, extensive hiking is involved. Permits are required to climb these granite rocks.
Wildlife in Yosemite
Yosemite National Park is home to a variety of wildlife. Some animals such as squirrels and mule deer will be easily seen. Unfortunately, they have been habituated to humans because many visitors feed them. Larger, more elusive wild animals, such as bears and bobcats can be seen if visitors travel deeper into the forest.
Please do not feed wildlife and help keep it wild.
